Getaway Without Getting Away

You know how sometimes you just wish you could get away from the city for a little bit but there’s no time? Well this past weekend I found a bit of a sanctuary in Johannesburg, Northcliff to be exact. I know I was as surprised as you are.

My friends I give you Morrells Boutique Estate, a guest house/ event venue which has the cutest bistro to top of the old school french vibe they have going on. For a couple of days or hours you’ll feel like you’ve left the city for a little bit.

Lunch wash served: Black truffle chicken with parmaham with some fancy named veggies.

The oh so beautiful Damian Marley performed last night in Johannesburg at Groove Live the venue formerly known as Bassline. And what a show it was, I guess its because I walked in with no preconceived ideas of what the show would be like so I was blown away. So not only is he absolutely gorgeous but the guy sure can get the crowd going. No lie my cousin and I were mesmerized, she refers to him as “Optimus Bae” 🙂

Out and About

This weekend we braved the cold cold Joburg winter to check out the Winter Sculpture Fair held at Nirox Sculpture Park, you know to take in some culture as one does. We saw some interesting pieces, ate some good food and broke the no-fun-can-be-had-outdoors-in-winter curse.
